The Lawrence Park Golf Club opened in 1921 as a 9-hole golf course. The course was constructed on land owned by the General Electric Company in Erie, Pennsylvania. The course was built by employees of the company for the employees of the company. The original 9-hole layout was adjusted in 1931 to relocate Hole Nos. 1,2 and 9 to make up the back nine that you see there today. In 1941 the Club hired Alfred H, Tull to layout nine new holes and bring the golf course up to a full 18-hole facility. Over the past few years, the golf course has taken on a fresh new look that is much more dynamic with improved playability and more appeal on each and every hole. |
