Daily Course Maintenance

Greens

Greens are mowed 7 days per week at .105 inches. Are target green speed for every day play is between 10 to 11 feet on the stimp meter. Our main goal is to maintain consistent and smooth greens from day to day and also from green to green. Along with daily mowing, other maintenance practices include:

  • Topdressing (Light topdressing every Monday Mid May to Mid Sept.)
  • Aerifying and Heavy topdressing Early May & Mid Aug.
  • Verticuting (Thins out grass, done 2 to 3 times per year)
  • Rolling (Done Tuesday thru Sunday)
  • Watering (Greens are watered to keep the turf healthy, not to create a soft landing area for your golf ball)

 Fairways

Fairways are mowed Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat. at  1/2 inch. Clippings are removed from May 1st thru Labor Day. We top dress divots when time allows.

Tees

Tees are mowed  Monday & Thursday at .425. We move blue and white tee markers daily and others on Mon. Wed. and Fri. All divots are top dressed when markers are moved.

Bunkers

Bunkers are raked Tuesday and Friday completly and are touched up daily

Roughs

Roughs are mowed once per week usually on Tue. Wed. at 2 inches. (It takes 2 full days with 2 machines to mow all rough) We mow more often if excessive growth warrants it.

Driving range

All mowing is done on Mondays; the tee and target greens are also mowed on Thursday. The tee and fairway are mowed at .500 inch. The divots are top dressed daily. The teeing area ropes are moved daily from back to front,  approximately 2 feet at a time.
